For 40 years, ALAS has quietly remained a leading supporter of artists’ legal rights and access to justice for Ontario’s creative community. But with its 40th anniversary in 2026, it’s time to make some noise, so we’re throwing a party!

DJ Roland Gonzalez will set the tone for a night of music and cheer. Come mix, mingle, and join us for the next ten years! Or just drop by and say ‘hi.’

Since 1986, ALAS has been sustained almost entirely by volunteer lawyers, law students and artists. Over 40 years its core legal support programs – a summary legal advice clinic, legal education events, and a legal resource database – have continued to grow, and ALAS is now assisting more artists than ever before. It remains committed to its mission to empower Ontario’s creative community by providing legal information, advice, education and access to justice.

As a primarily volunteer-led organization, ALAS relies on the passion, dedication and generosity of its volunteers to deliver vital services for artists. With this important milestone, ALAS is deeply grateful to its supporters.
