Webinar: Copyright and Fair Dealing
This seminar will equip artists of any medium with their own copyright toolbox. Register today for this virtual session with copyright and trademark lawyer Christie Bates!
Copyright and fair dealing can get convoluted pretty quickly, which is why this copyright 101 session is going to be primarily scenario-based. The goal of the seminar will be to equip you with your own copyright toolbox: by walking through examples, you’ll learn when copyright can arise, the full scope of your rights and ways to monetize them, the relevance of moral rights, and how best to stay out of hot water. By grounding abstract concepts in real-world situations, you will be better equipped to ensure you understand the do’s and don’ts of copyright and be able to successfully navigate the world of copyright as an artist in Canada.
