About the speaker:
Alessia Monastero is a branding and intellectual property lawyer at Bhole IP Law, working with creative clients across various industries including retail, technology, entertainment, and food & beverage. Her practice includes assisting clients with the protection, enforcement, and licensing of intellectual property rights, with an emphasis on trademarks. Alessia is currently an executive member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law and Entertainment Law Section, sits on the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada’s Anti-Counterfeiting Committee, volunteers with the Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network, and is a mentor with the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs. She frequently writes on brand protection issues relating to fashion and design, and was given the Barry D. Torno Award in 2018 and 2019 for her research in this area.
