Dance and the Law

Co-presented by Artists’ Legal Advice Services (ALAS), CADA/East and Artists Legal Services Ottawa (ALSO)

Join us with entertainment lawyer Lyndra Griffith-Harnden for an informative discussion around the common legal issues and questions faced by independent dance artists. From the creation and negotiation of contracts, to understanding copyright as it relates to original works of choreography, the session is intended to help dancers understand their legal rights and obligations and to more confidently avoid/navigate legal issues that may arise over the course of their careers. Participants are encouraged to send any specific questions they may have in advance, during registration.
