Dance and the Law: A Conversation
October 23, 2025: 5-6:15pm (EDT)
Virtual: Register here
Co-presented with CADA/East
Join us with entertainment lawyer Lyndra Griffith-Harnden for an open conversation around common legal issues and questions faced by independent dance artists. From the creation and negotiation of contracts, to navigating disputes and understanding copyright as it relates to original works of choreography, the session is intended to provide dancers a relaxed opportunity to engage with both their peers and a legal professional, in order to understand and advocate for their legal rights and to more confidently navigate situations that may arise over the course of their artistic careers. Participants are encouraged to send specific questions or topics of interests that they may have in advance, during registration.
Lyndra Griffith-Harnden (Griffith Law) is a bilingual entertainment lawyer, representing clients in music, film, television, publishing, fashion, and the visual and performing arts.
