How it works

1. You (the artist) submit the intake form below.

2. We will review your request and follow up with you as soon as possible.  If your request is within the scope of our clinic, we will send a virtual calendar for you to book an intake call with a law student, to clarify how we can best help you with your issues or concerns.

3. A volunteer law student will contact you by phone at the scheduled time. You will be contacted from a private caller ID.

4.  After confirming the scope of your request, the volunteer student will schedule you in to speak with a volunteer lawyer at the earliest available time that works with your schedule.

4. You will show up to your appointment at which a volunteer lawyer will meet with you for 30 minutes.  They will provide their services pro bono (free) and on a confidential basis.  They will listen to your concerns in regard to any artistic discipline and provide summary legal advice and information aimed at addressing your legal issues.

5. Should you require further legal assistance after your appointment, the volunteer lawyer may suggest you contact or retain another legal clinic, lawyer and/or contact the Law Society of Ontario’s Law Society Referral Service.

The lawyer providing summary legal advice and information will, without research or follow up, explain briefly and help you understand your situation with respect to the law or laws that may be applicable.  They may suggest possible options for you to consider to resolve your issue or proceed towards a resolution, including pointing you to other resources, sites and organizations.
