<p>Join <a href="https://cassels.com/our_team/lindsay-e-dykstra/"><strong>Lindsay Dykstra</strong></a> and <a href="https://cassels.com/our_team/christie-j-c-bates/"><strong>Christie Bates</strong></a>, lawyers at Cassels Brock &amp; Blackwell LLP, for a discussion of how copyright law and fair dealing provisions affect your creative practice. Lindsay and Christie will cover key copyright provisions that will help you harness and manage your copyright. They will also provide practical legal tips to help improve your creative practice.</p>
<p>The event is presented in collaboration with the <strong>Artists’ Legal Advice Services</strong>, the <strong>Centre for Emerging Artists &amp; Designers at OCAD University</strong>, and the <strong>Edward P. Taylor Library &amp; Archives at the Art Gallery of Ontario,</strong> and is supported by the <strong>Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub.</strong></p>
<p><em>Our definition of woman is an inclusive term – all women-identified, non-binary, Two-Spirit people are welcome.</em></p>
<p>This series is supported by the <a href="https://wekh.ca/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub</a>. Led by <a href="https://www.ryerson.ca/diversity/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ryerson University’s Diversity Institute</a>, the <a href="https://brookfieldinstitute.ca/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship</a> and the <a href="https://www.ryerson.ca/tedrogersschool/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ted Rogers School of Management</a> with over 75 partner organizations, the Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH) is a nation-wide network of researchers, business support organizations, and key stakeholders aiming to reduce barriers and grow women’s entrepreneurship in Canada. The Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub is funded by the Government of Canada.</p>

<p><strong>Artists&#8217; Legal Advice Services (ALAS</strong>) is a non-profit that, for over 30 years, has provided free legal advice to artists living in Ontario. ALAS and its volunteers run a free legal clinic, workshops and provide resources for artists to help them better understand their legal questions.
